VTI-U: Developing a Business Approach to Physical Security Challenges

Posted on Tuesday, July 24, 2018

Education continues to be a differentiator when serving our Trusted Business Partners.  VTI-University brings together expert speakers, leaders in the physical security arena from all vertical markets, and topics that empower our attendees with core knowledge for furthering their business within their operating environments.  We consider this a foundation of our responsibility.

We were joined this week at our VTI Learning Center by Michael Cummings, CPP, and many of our discerning clients and colleagues.  Mike led a collaborative conversation on Developing a Business Approach to Physical Security Challenges.  Mike has been in the field of security since 1973. He spent the first 12 years of his career in the retail sector. He has been a security practitioner in health care since 1985. Most recently, he served as the Senior Vice President of Security and Loss Prevention for Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee Wisconsin. He held a leadership role between 1987-2017. In 2017, he opened his security consulting firm, Cummings Security Consulting, LLC.

Mike has been a member of ASIS International since 1978 serving many years in various capacities, both on the local Board in Milwaukee, WI and on a national/international level. He served as a member of the Standing Committee For Health Care Security, was elected to the Board of Directors in January 2003 and served on the Board through 2010 in the role of President in 2009 and as its Chairman of the Board in 2010.  Mike is also a Senior Member of the International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS). Mike currently serves on the IAHSS Guidelines Council.

3rd Annual Omaha ASIS Chapter Charity Golf Tourney

Posted on Tuesday, July 10, 2018

In collaboration with the Omaha ASIS Chapter, VTI proudly sponsored the 3rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament.  Under the leadership of Senior Account Manager, Gary Weikel, over 60 leading stakeholders in the security community came together to support the Omaha Outward Bound organization: www.outwardboundomaha.org.

"In 2009, Omaha Outward Bound School was created to bring high quality experiential education programs to Nebraska. Based on a curriculum that is focused on developing high quality leaders within the Omaha metro area, we serve students through school-based programs, one day challenge course programs, and frontcountry expeditions. In addition to youth programs, Omaha Outward Bound School provides programs that focus on corporate teambuilding and educator training."

Gary was joined by Colleagues Steve Kollar, Danny Budler, Monty Payne, and Stephen Fisher.  Many thanks to the Omaha ASIS Chapter, our Trusted Business Partners and Clients who took the time to join us, and to Gary for once again pulling together a top shelf event.  Enjoy the pics......
